Wealth is a boon for a few; and a curse of the most. Seema was the only heir to enormous fortune left behind by her father Late Seth Dhram Dass. Thus brought up in the lap of luxury, she grew up with a swollen head, vanity and a tinge of "SUPERIORITY COMPLEX". Abundance of wealth and blossoming youth made her lead to carefree, luxurious life with great pomp and show, being quite ignorant to the realities and intricacies of life. Bimla, an ordinary school teacher but a gospel of simplicity, and humility had a great abhorrence for her spendthrift habits and unnecessary grandeur. Bimla pleaded, argued, remonstrated and warned Seema to desist but to no avail. At last, Bimla got a long awaited opportunity to give a vent to her suppressed feelings on Seema Birthday. She challenged Seema to prove her worth by earning ONE THOUSAND rupees a year with sweat of her brow and remarked that all the pomp and show being displayed was built on the structure erected by her fore-fathers. Seema felt insulted and in temper accepted it. Entrusting her business and household affair to the care of her solicitor abandoned herself to her fate.

The uncompromising circumstances entirely changed her. She was Malti and no longer Seema. Her lack of experience in domesticity stood in her way. She failed to prove a success in any of the jobs, she got. For the first time, she realized that life is not a bed of roses. But Prof. Devakinandan Brindabanwal kindled at candle of hope in her dark-pitched life. Untiring efforts backed by unflinching faith and determination brought a glimpse of hope into her life in the shape of a stage actress in Roshan Theatres.

Malti was well versed in the art of dancing. She took no time in earning name and fame. But her fame was short-lived. Seth Roshan Lal's evil designs and conspiracy of which she had knowledge, made her leave theatre in quest of Karan, who was also an employee in the same theatre.

Did Seema realise that life is not a child's play?
Did she succeed in getting back her Karan?

For these answers, see JASHAN on the silver screen.
